What is the best anti-aging diet?

After long research and testing of all sorts of diets and nutrition, I came to several conclusions about how to stop aging (well, at least to slow it a little bit).

Here are my anti-aging secrets:

  • Stick to the Mediterranean diet (it is rich in anti aging foods, like fruits and vegetables, whole grains, fish and other sea foods)

  • Drink red wine - a glass or two daily

  • Vitamin C and omega-3 fatty acids are my favorites as far as food supplements are concerned. Other valuable supplements include calcium, magnesium, vitamin E, and B group vitamins (vitamin b-12 particularly)

  • Eat moderately. Consume smaller portions more often

  • Try to reduce stressful situations to a minimum

  • Engage in moderate physical activity (although it is bad to be physically inactive, it is also inadvisable to exercise excessively. Specifically, to much exercise leads to increased levels of cortisol and the creation of free radicals which cause your body to age more quickly)

  • And finally, the most important one: think positively! Have an active social life and live every day as if it were your last!

Is this a diet that will protect us from aging?

You know very well that it won't. Such a diet does not exist.

However, there are "anti aging foods" which can provide so-called "healthy" aging, free from most aging diseases like arthritis, atherosclerosis, cancer, heart disease, diabetes, dementia and memory loss as well as most of the physical conditions that are common in older people such as hearing problems, loss of teeth and hair, vision problems, wrinkles, joint pain, psychological insecurity and so on.

Even the best anti aging products (which are big business today) won't do as much for you as an adequate diet.

Food can be your medicine as well as your poison.

Aging and nutrition are actually connected - if food becomes your ally, you will have a better chance of slowing down the aging process.

I wish you a longer and a happier life with the Mediterranean diet - in my opinion the best anti-aging diet.

By the way, this is my grandma. She is 88 years old. This page I dedicate to her.
