I wouldn’t really get to taste any other cuisines besides the typical American, Mexican or Italian – which was almost always only spaghetti and pasta, while living in the United States. On my visit to France with my family, we came across a restaurant which was international and offered Croatian food. I was delighted to finally try something new.
I tried -- I think it was called -- "strukli" and I loved it!!
I must admit that I lost plenty of weight when I ate Croatian food for a week since it’s cooked without extra oil or hormones.
You should definitely try it out especially if you’re visiting Europe.

Of all Croatian recipes, I immediately fall in love with the seafood - especially squids.
I visited Croatia two summers ago. When my friends decided that we should spend our summer holiday in Croatia, I was really excited.
There are many, many things that I loved about Croatia when I visited it, but I was really thrilled with the cuisine. I tried different types of food, such as meat, pasta and stews (I really liked the fish stew).
However, the seafood was the best food I have tried in Croatia, especially the squids. They tasted so good, I can still feel the taste in my mouth. I have tried squids in Italy and Spain, too, but they can not be compared to the Croatian ones.
I know that the Croatian word for "squids" was difficult to be pronounced, so I can not remember it. However, I do remember "Dobar tek!" (Good Appetite).

The squids in Croatian are "lignje" and many people, especially tourists who visit Croatia love them. I promise to write down and publish (on this website) several great squid recipes.
