La Briciola

Address: Via Solferino 25, Milan, Italy.
Neighborhood: Brera
Contact: 0039026551012

One of the most fashionable places in town, La Briciola has earned quite a name for itself primarily because of the long term owner of the restaurant, Gianni.

With an extremely helpful and serviceable attitude, Gianni treats customers in his restaurants with real value, which is why people are coming back again and again.

The ambiance of the restaurant is extremely nice, and the owner has focused primarily on a more ‘natural’ surrounding, by placing plants everywhere.

This is not a small restaurant by any means; some of the most popular Italian celebrities visit here on a daily basis, and have often given glowing accounts of the food and experience that they had at La Briciola.

With frame luminous stained glass windows, the restaurant looks extremely beautiful during the sunset, as the colors on the glass shine on the inside, which reveal the amount of planning and thought that was put while the restaurant was being constructed.

However, nobody visits a restaurant just for the ambiance, and even though it really adds to the eating experience, food is the primary basis on which the quality of the restaurant is judged.

In the case of La Briciola, the food is one of the major attractions.

There’s a wine card available with a number of different wines that are available, some of which are very special.

The food here is mainly Mediterranean and Italian, and it can be said that all of the dishes are created with a certain passion, liking and vigor. The chefs here really enjoy making the food, and this reflects in the way the food tastes.

Typical Mediterranean dishes here include minted lamb, pan seared sea bass with olives, tomatoes and oregano brown rice, courgette and quinoa stuffed peppers, bacon and brie omelets wedges, chorizo pilaf, broad bean and feta cheese toasts as well as numerous others.

The restaurant specializes in Mediterranean foods, with the owner claiming that ‘nobody in Milan can cook them better!’In most cases, this rings true as well.

There’s no live music playing available, since this is primarily a classic restaurant with an old touch about it, and that’s the reason why La Briciola holds such a prodigious reputation.

For those visiting Milan, this is one of the must-go places when it comes to good food.

One of their most amazing dishes is the Pancetta wrapped fish with lemony potatoes, which has garnered a lot of fame with the unique touch that the chefs give to it.

All of the spices that are used are made in house, which gives the food this distinct flavor that is extremely nice.

All in all, food at La Briciola is a wonder, although the prices are certainly a bit steep. However, coming from a state of the art, professional restaurant, you can expect nothing less. The good thing is, when you leave the restaurant, you leave satisfied with a desire to return!
